Originally starting out in 2010 until 2021 our work was based around our flagship weekly radio programme SacredSpace102fm (SS102fm); now the C&SI team aims to work on various podcasts which contribute to the New Evangelisation and spread hope and faith online and on air. C&SI - 6th Sunday of the Word of God - 26 Jan 2025 (S05E09)
On this weeks podcast we share a reflection from USCCB by Bishop Barron about Dei Verbum to mark the 6th Sunday of the Word of God.
We have our regular liturgical odds and ends in part one and in part three we have our reflection on the Sunday gospel as we enter into the liturgical years ordinary time with Luke's gospel (Lk 1:1-4; 4:14-21)
Sunday of the Word of God 2025
In his Apostolic Letter of 30 September 2019, Aperuit illis Pope Francis established that the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time is to be the Sunday of the Word of God. It is a day to be devoted to the celebration, study, and spreading of the Word of God. Pope Francis is clear from the very first paragraph of this letter that the relationship between the Risen Lord, a community of believers, and sacred Scripture is essential to who we are as Christians.
The reflection we are sharing is from Bishop Barron speaking about Dei Verbum which is the dogmatic constitution on Revelation from the second Vatican Council which sets out the Catholic understanding and role of scripture in Revelation.
