Come & See Inspirations team Season 4 Episode 51

On this weeks podcast C&SI team welcome back Julieann Moran,  General Secretary for the Synodal Pathway of the Catholic Church in Ireland. Julieann shares her thoughts with us on the experience of the Church's Synodal journey following on the conclusion of part two of the Synod on Synodality in Rome and the publication of the final document which Pope Francis immediately approved.

We have our regular run through the liturgical odds and ends of the coming week with some local notices in part one. In part three we have our weekly reflection on the Sunday gospel which is for the solemnity of Christ the Universal King where we are presented from the gospel of John with the contrast presented between the "kingship" of Pilate and that of Jesus.

Update on Synod on Synodality and the Irish Synodal Pathway
Julieann returns to the podcast this week to take us through the updates from Rome from the Synod of Bishops which has been looking at the issue of Synodality over the last two Octobers. During the conversation she presented an outline of what Synodality might mean which can be viewed as "the baptised people of God walking together, discerning together, what it is that God is asking of us at this given time. So whether we are lay people, religious  or clergy - we are all called to take responsibility of the church and the spiritual gift of each of us of discernment so whatever we discern we need to be doing it together as a pilgrim people of God".

She also provided an outline on the next steps which are going to be taken during the Jubilee of Hope in 2025 to move forward on the Irish Synodal Pathway which will lead to convening of synodal assemblies in Ireland and the implementation of the final document from the Synod of Bishops in Rome.
