Originally starting out in 2010 until 2021 our work was based around our flagship weekly radio programme SacredSpace102fm (SS102fm); now the C&SI team aims to work on various podcasts which contribute to the New Evangelisation and spread hope and faith online and on air. This page hosts C&SI's podcasts including our weekly podcast as well as other recordings and inspirational talks which we would like to share with you our listeners.
For our historic information and programme content you can also visit our old blog (2010 to 2019) at https://sacredspace102.blogspot.com/ (Please note that the blog is no longer being updated).

C&SI - Synod on Synodality - Writing and sharing the Irish National Synthesis (Part 3) - 19 March 2023 (S03E17)
At the moment in church circles the great buzzwords are "Synodality" and "Synod". But for the vast majority of Catholics it is not something they are overly familiar with but which could have massive impact on us as a faith community.
On this weeks podcast, the C&SI team have part three of a four part series looking at what it all means, what has been happening and what is next. We are joined by Julianne Moran to talk about the process of the national synthesis which was the writing up of a national summary document from all 26 dioceses in Ireland as well as 29 other groups and which was then submitted to the Holy See.
We have our regular run through notices and saints of the week and of course our reflection on the Sunday gospel which this week is John's account of Jesus curing of the man born blind (Jn 9:1-41).
Synod on Synodality
In October 2021 Pope Francis formally launched the two-year global consultation process leading to the 2023 synod (and now the 2024 synod) on synodality which focuses on the theme, “For a Synodal Church, Communion, Participation and Mission". Pope Francis has called for the widest and deepest consultation globally, inviting each person to “look others in the eye and listen to what they have to say.”
Each diocese in Ireland engaged in this process of listening and consultation and submissions from each diocese were returned to the Episcopal conference which in turn was forwarded as the response of the Irish Church to the Holy See. We look at what happened in the national phase talking through the process and the national synthesis document that was prepared with Julieann Moran who is the
General Secretary for the Synodal Pathway of the Catholic Church in Ireland.
