Show Notes

On this podcast John and Shane begin to unpack the Synod on Synodality called by Pope Francis which formally began on 10th October 2021 in Rome and will continue until Oct 2023. We look at the meaning of "Synod" and with the help of a few people we try to share various talks and thoughts on the whole process and the opportunity it presents for the whole People of God through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  We have some thoughts from:

  • Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich of Luxembourg who will serve as relator general (chairman) of the Synod of Bishops on synodality.
  • Some thoughts from Limerick Diocese - Bishop Brenda, Rose O'Connor and Fr Chris O'Donnell
  • Brief homily from Fr Dan Lane from Sunday Mass on October 10th with the invitation to the people of God to participate in the whole process.

We have our regular run through the up coming saints of the week and of course our reflection on the Sunday Gospel (Mark 10:46-52)

We have also have quite a long segment this week with local notices:
